Droṇa’s Withdrawal, Death, and the Kaurava Rout (द्रोणनिधन-प्रसङ्गः)

तस्मिन्‌ महाग्निप्रतिमो महात्मा संतापयन्‌ पाण्डवान्‌ विप्रमुख्य:

tasmin mahāgnipratimo mahātmā santāpayān pāṇḍavān vipramukhyaḥ

Sañjaya said: In that encounter, the great-souled warrior—like a blazing great fire—scorched the Pāṇḍavas, forcing them to turn away in disarray. The verse underscores how overwhelming martial power, when unleashed in war, can break even steadfast resolve and drive opponents from the forefront.
