अलायुधस्य भीमवधसंकल्पः

Alāyudha’s Resolve to Confront Bhīma

तव क्रोधहत: पूर्व देवैरपि सुदुर्जय: । शरतल्पगत: शेते भीष्म: कुरुपितामह:,“जिनपर विजय पाना पहले देवताओंके लिये भी अत्यन्त कठिन था, वे कुरुकुलके पितामह भीष्म आपके क्रोधसे ही दग्ध होकर इस समय बाणशब्यापर सो रहे हैं

tava krodhahataḥ pūrvaṁ devair api sudurjayaḥ | śaratālpagataḥ śete bhīṣmaḥ kurupitāmahaḥ ||

Sañjaya said: “Bhīṣma, the grandsire of the Kurus—who in former days was exceedingly hard to conquer even for the gods—now lies upon a bed of arrows, struck down by your wrath.”
