घ्नन्ति तानेव दुर्वत्तास्ते वै निरयगामिन: । “गुरुसे विद्या ग्रहण करके जो नराधम उनपर ही चोट करते हैं, वे दुराचारी मानव निश्चय ही नरकगामी होते हैं

Transliteration

ghnanti tāneva durvṛttās te vai nirayagāminaḥ |

Translation

Sañjaya said: Those of wicked conduct who, after receiving learning from a teacher, strike at those very persons are surely destined for hell. The verse condemns betrayal of one’s guru and benefactors as a grave ethical transgression, especially amid the moral chaos of war.
