अकामयानेन मया विशिखैरर्दितो भूशम्‌

Transliteration

akāmayānena mayā viśikhair ardito bhūśam

Translation

Sañjaya said: “Though I had no wish to fight, I was grievously tormented—pierced again and again by arrows.” The line underscores the moral strain of war: even the unwilling are swept into violence and made to suffer, revealing how conflict coerces bodies and consciences alike.
