।। युक्ताश्न पर्वतीयानां रथा: पाषाणयोधिनाम्‌

yuktāśna-parvatīyānāṁ rathāḥ pāṣāṇa-yodhinām

Sañjaya said: “The chariots of those stone-fighting warriors were harnessed with mountain-bred steeds.” In the grim momentum of battle, the verse highlights how even the very means of war—chariots and horses—are read as signs of a force’s rugged, unyielding character, intensifying the ethical weight of violence that is being prepared and carried out.
