Droṇa and Arjuna Engage; Trigarta Containment; Bhīma Breaks the Elephant Corps

ततो भीमो महाबाहुर्विरथो रथिनां वर: । गदां प्रगृह वेगेन प्रचस्कन्द रथोत्तमात्‌,इस प्रकार रथहीन होनेपर रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ महाबाहु भीमसेन हाथमें गदा लेकर उस उत्तम रथसे वेगपूर्वक कूद पड़े

tato bhīmo mahābāhur viratho rathināṃ varaḥ | gadāṃ pragṛhya vegena pracaskanda rathottamāt |

Sañjaya said: Then Bhīma, the mighty-armed—though now without a chariot, yet foremost among chariot-warriors—grasped his mace and, with swift force, leapt down from that excellent chariot. The moment underscores a warrior’s resolve: even when deprived of customary advantage, he does not abandon his duty in battle, but adapts and presses on with courage and discipline.
