शल्य उवाच सम्पत्स्यत्येष ते काम: कुन्तीपुत्र यथेप्सितम्‌ । गच्छ युध्यस्व विश्रब्ध: प्रतिजाने वचस्तव,शल्य बोले--कुन्तीनन्दन! तुम्हारा यह अभीष्ट मनोरथ अवश्य पूर्ण होगा। जाओ, निश्चिन्त होकर युद्ध करो। मैं तुम्हारे वचनका पालन करनेकी प्रतिज्ञा करता हूँ

śalya uvāca sampatsyaty eṣa te kāmaḥ kuntīputra yathepsitam | gaccha yudhyasva viśrabdhaḥ pratijāne vacas tava ||

Śalya said: “O son of Kuntī, your wish shall indeed be fulfilled exactly as you desire. Go—fight with a calm and confident mind. I pledge to uphold your word.”
