Educational Q&A

Arjuna’s request shows that true understanding in dharma is not merely intellectual assent; it seeks direct vision (darśana) of the divine reality. The verse frames God as both self-revealing (through teaching) and personally knowable (through experiential revelation), emphasizing devotion and trust in the Lord’s sovereignty.

After hearing Krishna describe His supreme nature, Arjuna affirms the truth of that teaching and asks to see Krishna’s aiśvara-rūpa—the majestic, sovereign divine form. This request sets up the ensuing revelation of the extraordinary cosmic manifestation.
