अर्जुन बोले--मुझपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये आपने जो परम गोपनीय अध्यात्मविषयक वचनः अर्थात् उपदेश कहा, उससे मेरा यह अज्ञान नष्ट हो गया हैः ।। भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुती विस्तरशो मया । त्वत्त: कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यमपि चाव्ययम्,क्योंकि हे कमलनेत्र! मैंने आपसे भूतोंकी उत्पत्ति और प्रलय विस्तारपूर्वक सुने हैं तथा आपकी अविनाशी महिमा भी सुनी हैः
arjuna uvāca—mayy anugrahārthaṁ tvayoktaṁ paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam | etad ajñānaṁ me naṣṭam || bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ śrutau vistaraso mayā | tvattaḥ kamala-patrākṣa māhātmyam api cāvyayam ||
Arjuna said: Out of compassion for me, you have spoken the supreme and most secret teaching of the Self; by that, my ignorance has been dispelled. For, O lotus-eyed one, I have heard from you in detail the arising and dissolution of beings, and I have also heard of your imperishable greatness.
