Rāja-Vidyā Rāja-Guhya Yoga (राजविद्या राजगुह्य योग) — The Yoga of Royal Knowledge and Royal Secret

दैवी होषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया । मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते

daivī hy eṣā guṇamayī mama māyā duratyayā | mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti te ||

This power of Mine—divine and woven of the three guṇas—is exceedingly hard to cross. Yet those who take refuge in Me alone pass beyond this māyā. In the moral crisis of the battlefield, the teaching directs Arjuna away from self-reliance and confusion toward wholehearted surrender to the Supreme as the sure means to transcend delusion and act rightly.

Educational Q&A

Māyā, though divine and constituted by the guṇas, cannot be overcome by mere personal effort; exclusive refuge in the Supreme is taught as the decisive means to transcend delusion and attain clarity for righteous action.

On the eve of battle, amid Arjuna’s moral and emotional turmoil, the Lord explains why beings become entangled in confusion: His guṇa-made māyā is hard to cross. He then offers the remedy—surrender to Him—so Arjuna can rise above bewilderment and follow dharma.
