उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
त्वं हि धर्मप्रवृत्तिश्न यश: कीर्तिश्व भारती । कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च मान्यश्वलापि पितामह:,आप ही हम भरतवंशियोंकी धर्मप्रवृत्ति, यश तथा कीर्तिके हेतु हैं। आप कौरवों और पाण्डवों--दोनोंके माननीय पितामह हैं
tvaṃ hi dharmapravṛttiś ca yaśaḥ kīrtiś ca bhāratī | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca mānyaś cāsi pitāmahaḥ ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “Indeed, you are the very source and support of righteous conduct, and of the fame and renown of the Bhārata line. You are the revered grandsire, worthy of honor to both the Kurus and the Pāṇḍavas alike.”
