Dhyāna-Yoga

Discipline of Meditation and Mental Restraint

daivam evāpare yajñaṁ yoginaḥ paryupāsate | brahmāgnāv apare yajñaṁ yajñenaivopajuhvati ||

Arjuna said: Some yogins worship the divine powers alone as their sacrificial offering; others, seeing Brahman as the very fire, pour the sacrifice into that fire by the sacrifice itself—offering the self through the act of inner worship. The teaching contrasts outward ritual directed to deities with inward sacrifice grounded in non-dual insight, presenting both as disciplined paths of reverent action.
