Shloka 52

त्यक्त्वा मन्युं व्युपशाम्यस्व पार्थ: पर्याप्तमेतद्‌ यत्‌ कृतं फाल्गुनेन । भीष्मस्यान्तादस्तु वः सौहदं च जीवन्तु शेषा: साधु राजन्‌ प्रसीद,“राजन! तुम क्रोध छोड़कर कुन्तीकुमारोंके साथ संधि स्थापित कर लो। अर्जुनने आजतक जो कुछ किया है, उतना ही बहुत है। मुझ भीष्मके जीवनका अन्त होनेसे (तुम्हारे वैरका भी अन्त हो जाय) तुमलोगोंमें प्रेम-सम्बन्ध स्थापित हो और जो लोग मरनेसे बचे हैं, वे अच्छी तरह जीवित रहें। इसके लिये तुम प्रसन्न हो जाओ

sañjaya uvāca | tyaktvā manyuṁ vyupaśāmyasva pārthaḥ paryāptam etad yat kṛtaṁ phālgunena | bhīṣmasyāntād astu vaḥ sauhṛdaṁ ca jīvantu śeṣāḥ sādhu rājan prasīda ||

Sañjaya said: “O son of Pṛthā, cast off your anger and become calm; let there be reconciliation with the sons of Kuntī. What Phālguna (Arjuna) has done is enough. With the end of Bhīṣma’s life, may your enmity also come to an end; may friendship be established among you, and may those who remain alive live well. O King, be gracious—be appeased.”
