उपारमध्वं संग्रामाद् वैरमुत्सूज्य पार्थिवा: । 'भूपालगण! अब आपलोग आपसका वैरभाव छोड़कर युद्धसे विरत हो जायँ ।। ५४ - संजय उवाच उपातिष्ठ न्नथो वैद्या: शल्योद्धरणकोविदा:
sañjaya uvāca | upāramadhvaṃ saṃgrāmād vairam utsṛjya pārthivāḥ |
Sañjaya said: “O kings, cease from this battle; abandoning your enmity, withdraw.” In the midst of ruinous conflict, the call urges rulers to restrain wrath and let dharma—self-control and regard for life—override the momentum of vengeance.
