Sañjaya said: Arjuna, the bowman stationed at the forefront, forced his way into the Kaurava host and began driving their troops back, cutting through the very middle of the Kuru formations. The verse underscores the momentum of righteous resolve in battle: disciplined prowess, when directed toward a chosen duty, can scatter even a vast army.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights kṣatriya-duty expressed as disciplined action: when one commits to a rightful task with skill and steadiness, fear and disorder spread among opposing forces. It frames martial prowess as an instrument of chosen dharma rather than mere aggression.

Sañjaya reports that Arjuna, positioned at the front, penetrates the Kaurava formations and begins routing the Kuru troops, driving them back by pushing through the center of their army.
