इत्यासीत् तुमुल: शब्द: फाल्गुनस्य रथं प्रति । अर्जुनके रथके समीप “मार डालो, ले आओ, पकड़ लो, बींध डालो, टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दो” इस प्रकार भयंकर शब्द गूँजने लगा
ityāsīt tumulaḥ śabdaḥ phālgunasya rathaṃ prati |
Sañjaya said: “Thus there arose a tumultuous roar directed toward Phālguna’s chariot.” Near Arjuna’s chariot the warriors’ cries thundered—“Kill him! Bring him here! Seize him! Pierce him! Cut him to pieces!”—revealing the frenzy and moral collapse that war can unleash when hatred overpowers restraint.
