भीमसेनस्य बहुमहारथसंयुगः
Bhīmasena’s Engagement with Multiple Mahārathas
सानुबन्धान् हनिष्यामि ये मां योत्स्यन्ति संगरे । इति तत् कुरु कौन्तेय सत्यं वाक्यमरिंदम
sānubandhān haniṣyāmi ye māṁ yotsyanti saṅgare | iti tat kuru kaunteya satyaṁ vākyam ariṁdama ||
Sañjaya said: “I shall slay, together with their followers and allies, those who will fight against me in battle.” Therefore, O son of Kuntī, do that—let your word be true, O subduer of foes. The statement presses the ethic of keeping one’s pledged word even amid the harsh demands of war.
