भीष्म-पर्व अध्याय १०० — त्रिगर्त-आक्रमण, भीष्म-केन्द्रित पुनर्संयोजन, तथा शक्त्यस्त्र-विनिमय

भ्रातरश्न महेष्वासास्त्रिदशा इव वासवम्‌ | भीष्मके शिविरकी ओर जाते हुए पुरुषश्रेष्ठ दुर्योधनके पीछे सारे जगत्‌के महाधनुर्धर कौरवपक्षीय नरेश तथा विशाल धनुष धारण करनेवाले उसके भाई उसी प्रकार जा रहे थे, जैसे इन्द्रके पीछे देवता चलते हैं

bhrātaraś ca mahēṣvāsās tridāśā iva vāsavam |

Karna said: “And his brothers—mighty archers—along with the great bowmen of the Kaurava side, followed the foremost of men, Duryodhana, as he proceeded toward Bhishma’s camp, just as the gods follow Indra.”
