एवमुक्क्त्वा स नृपति: प्रविवेश रसातलम् । उक्त्वाथ वितथं प्रश्न॑ चेदीनामी श्वर: प्रभु:,इस प्रकार कहकर असत्य निर्णय देनेके कारण चेदिराज वसुको रसातलमें जाना पड़ा
Transliteration
evam uktvā sa nṛpatiḥ praviveśa rasātalam | uktvātha vitathaṁ praśnaṁ cedīnām īśvaraḥ prabhuḥ |
Translation
Vaiśampāyana said: Having spoken thus, that king entered Rasātala. For having given a false decision in response to a question, Vasu—the powerful lord of the Cedis—was made to descend to the netherworld. The passage underscores the ethical consequence of untruth in judgment: when a ruler distorts truth, his authority becomes the cause of his fall.
