Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
अपश्यस्त्वं तं तदा घोररूपं सर्वे वै त्वां ददृशुर्दर्शनीयम् । यस्माद् भीत: प्राञ्जलिस्त्वं महर्षि- मागच्छेथा: शरणं दानवघ्न,दानवदलन देवराज! आपने उस समय उस घोररूपधारी दानवको देखा था और अन्य सब लोगोंने आपकी ओर भी दृष्टिपात किया था। उस अवसरपर भयके कारण आपकी जो दशा हुई थी, वह देखने ही योग्य थी। आप उस दानवसे भयभीत हो हाथ जोड़कर महर्षि च्यवनकी शरणमें गये थे
śakra uvāca | apaśyastvaṃ taṃ tadā ghorarūpaṃ sarve vai tvāṃ dadṛśur darśanīyam | yasmād bhītaḥ prāñjalistvaṃ maharṣi-m āgacchethāḥ śaraṇaṃ dānavaghna ||
Śakra said: “You did see that dreadful, terrifyingly formed being at that time; and everyone also looked toward you—your condition was, indeed, something to be seen. For, frightened, with hands joined in supplication, you approached the great sage as your refuge, O slayer of Dānavas.”
