Chapter 8

स तप्यमानो वैवर्ण्य कृशत्वं चागमत्‌ परम्‌ | भविष्यति हि मे शत्रु: संवर्तो वसुमानिति,वे चिन्ताके मारे पीले पड़ गये और यह सोचकर कि "मेरा शत्रु संवर्त बहुत धनी हो जायगा” उनका शरीर अत्यन्त दुर्बल हो गया

sa tapyamāno vaivarṇyaṃ kṛśatvaṃ cāgamat param | bhaviṣyati hi me śatruḥ saṃvarto vasumān iti |

Tormented by inner heat and anxiety, he became pale and wasted away to an extreme degree, thinking, “My enemy Saṃvarta will surely become wealthy.” The verse highlights how envy and fear of another’s prosperity can consume a person from within, weakening both body and judgment.
