पाण्डव-वृष्णि-समागमः तथा अश्वमेध-अनुज्ञा | Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha
तान् समीपगतान श्रु॒त्वा निर्ययुर्वृष्णिपुड्रवा:,वृष्णिवंशके प्रमुख वीरोंने जब सुना कि पाण्डव लोग नगरके समीप आ गये हैं, तब वे उनकी अगवानीके लिये बाहर निकले
tān samīpagatān śrutvā niryayur vṛṣṇipuṅgavāḥ
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing that the Pāṇḍavas had come near the city, the foremost heroes of the Vṛṣṇi lineage went out to meet them—an act of proper courtesy and kinship-duty, signaling respect and readiness to receive guests in accordance with dharma.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as proper reception of guests and relatives: when honored visitors arrive, leaders should go out to welcome them, showing respect, goodwill, and social responsibility.
News reaches the Vṛṣṇi leaders that the Pāṇḍavas have come close to the city; in response, the foremost Vṛṣṇi heroes come out from the city to greet and receive them.
