Adhyāya 62: Marutta’s Treasure and the Pāṇḍavas’ Auspicious Departure (मरुत्तस्य धनप्राप्त्युपक्रमः)

Vaiśampāyana said: “That hero has gone to the imperishable worlds of the gods—realms won by his own valor. Therefore he is not one for you to mourn, nor for the other Kurus either.”
A righteous warrior who has earned imperishable heavenly realms through his own valor should not be lamented; grief is tempered by the recognition of dharmic attainment and the soul’s onward journey.
Vaiśampāyana consoles the mourners by stating that Abhimanyu has departed to the gods’ undecaying worlds, gained by his personal heroism, and thus neither the listener nor the other Kurus should remain overwhelmed by sorrow.
