Chapter 6
यौगपलद्मेन विप्रश्न पुरीद्वारमथाविशत् । ततः स कुणपं दृष्टवा सहसा संन्यवर्तत,इसी समय विप्रवर संवर्त भी पुरीके द्वारपर आये; किंतु उस मुर्देको देखकर वे सहसा पीछेकी ओर लौट पड़े
yaugapaladmena vipraśna purīdvāram athāviśat | tataḥ sa kuṇapaṃ dṛṣṭvā sahasā saṃnyavartata ||
Using a yogic power, the eminent brahmin entered the city gate. But the moment he saw a corpse there, he recoiled at once and turned back. The scene underscores the tension between spiritual capability and the ethical–ritual sensitivity that restrains a brahmin from contact with impurity, even when he possesses extraordinary powers.
