Kṛṣṇa’s Departure, Auspicious Omens, and the Opening of the Uttaṅka Dialogue (कृष्णप्रयाण-निमित्त-उत्तङ्कसंवाद-प्रारम्भः)
एवं सम्भाषमाणोौ तौ प्राप्ती वारणसाह्दयम्
evaṃ sambhāṣamāṇau tau prāptī vāraṇasāhṛdayam
Thus, as the two of them continued their conversation, they arrived at Vāraṇasāhṛdaya. The narration highlights a transition from dialogue to action, suggesting that counsel and mutual understanding are meant to culminate in purposeful movement along the path of duty.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse implicitly underscores that meaningful dialogue and counsel should lead to decisive, dharma-aligned action—conversation is not an end in itself but a preparation for right conduct.
Vaiśampāyana reports that two individuals, while talking together, reach a place called Vāraṇasāhṛdaya, marking a shift from discussion to the next stage of their journey.
