अन्तर्वन-विद्यारण्योपमा
The Allegory of the Inner Forest of Knowledge
इति श्रीमहाभारते आश्वमेधिके पर्वणि अनुगीतापर्वणि ब्राह्मणगीतासु सप्तविंशोडध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate āśvamedhike parvaṇi anugītāparvaṇi brāhmaṇagītāsu saptaviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Aśvamedhika Parva, in the Anugītā section, in the Brāhmaṇa-gītās, ends the twenty-seventh chapter. This is a colophon marking the close of a unit of teaching attributed to a brāhmaṇa speaker, situating the discourse within the ethical and reflective frame of the Anugītā.
ब्राह्मण उवाच
This line is not a doctrinal verse but a colophon. Its function is to close and authenticate the preceding teaching by locating it within the Mahābhārata’s Aśvamedhika Parva, specifically the Anugītā section and the Brāhmaṇa-gītās.
The discourse attributed to the brāhmaṇa speaker reaches a formal stopping point: the text signals that the twenty-seventh chapter has concluded within the Anugītā portion of the Aśvamedhika Parva.
