Aṣṭaka said: “That supreme Reality which is the refuge of all, ancient and primordial, and before which even the mind’s pathways come to a halt—may that be your highest good. The wise who truly know It, entering into union with that Supreme, attain the highest peace both here in this world and after death.”

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that the Supreme—described as the universal refuge and beyond the mind’s reach—is the highest good. Those who truly realize It and unite with It attain supreme peace both in this life and after death.

Aṣṭaka speaks in a reflective, instructive tone, praising the transcendent Supreme Reality and stating the fruit of its realization: union with that Reality and the attainment of highest peace in both worlds.
