Yayāti–Aṣṭaka Saṃvāda
vaiśampāyana uvāca pratipede jarāṃ rājā yayātir nāhuṣas tadā | yauvanaṃ pratipede ca pūruḥ svaṃ punar ātmanaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: At that time King Yayāti, the son of Nahuṣa, took back old age; and Pūru, in turn, regained his own youth again. Thus the exchange of conditions was effected—an episode that foregrounds the ethical weight of filial duty and the consequences of desire, as youth and age become transferable through consent and sacrifice.
