Tilottamā, Sunda–Upasunda, and the Pāṇḍava Samaya (Ādi Parva 204)
धर्मे चानवरौ राजन् सत्यतायां च भारत । रामाद् दाशरथेश्वैव गयाच्चैव न संशय:,भरतवंशी नरेश! ये दोनों धर्म और सत्यवादितामें दशरथनन्दन श्रीराम तथा राजा गयसे कम नहीं हैं। मेरा यह कथन सर्वथा संशयरहित है
dharme cānavarau rājan satyatāyāṃ ca bhārata | rāmād dāśaratheś caiva gayāc caiva na saṃśayaḥ ||
Vidura said: “O King, O scion of Bharata, in righteousness and in devotion to truth these two are in no way inferior—neither to Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, nor to King Gaya. Of this there is no doubt.”
विदुर उवाच
Dharma and truthfulness are the defining measures of noble character; those who embody them deserve to be ranked with the highest exemplars like Rāma and King Gaya.
Vidura addresses the Kuru king and offers a strong endorsement of “these two” persons, asserting that in dharma and truth they are equal to celebrated models of righteous kingship, reinforcing their moral credibility.
