Tilottamā, Sunda–Upasunda, and the Pāṇḍava Samaya (Ādi Parva 204)

Vidura said: “So too, O King—without any doubt—the sons of Pāṇḍu are your sons. If some advisers, lacking true discernment, were to counsel you toward anything harmful to the Pāṇḍavas, it would have to be said that those ministers do not clearly perceive where your real welfare lies.”

Educational Q&A

A king’s welfare lies in impartial dharma: the Pāṇḍavas must be regarded as his own sons, and advisers who recommend harming them are ethically blind and ultimately harmful to the king’s true good.

Vidura is counseling the king (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) to treat the Pāṇḍavas as his own children and warning that ministers who urge policies against the Pāṇḍavas do not understand the king’s real interest or righteousness.
