Dhṛṣṭadyumna said: “Akrūra and Sātyaki, and the very wise Uddhava; and Kṛtakarmā, the son of Hṛdīka; and also Pṛthu and Vipṛthu—these eminent Vṛṣṇi heroes have arrived as well.” The verse functions as part of a formal muster-list, emphasizing the gathering of capable allies and the ethical weight of kinship-based duty and solidarity in a time of impending conflict.
धृष्टह्युम्न उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic importance of standing with one’s rightful allies and fulfilling communal and kṣatriya responsibilities. By naming respected figures—warriors and counselors alike—it highlights that ethical action in crisis depends on both strength and wise guidance.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna is reciting a roster of notable Vṛṣṇi/Yādava personages who have arrived. The passage is part of a broader enumeration that signals the consolidation of support and readiness as major political-military events approach.
