Dhṛṣṭadyumna said: “Vidūratha, Kaṅka, Śaṅku, and Gaveṣaṇa; Āśāvaha; Aniruddha; Śamīka; Sārimejaya; the mighty Suṣeṇa; and Śibi of the Uśīnara country—these too are present.” In this passage, the speaker continues a formal enumeration of allied heroes, emphasizing the breadth of support gathered for the coming conflict and the public, accountable nature of political and martial commitments.
धृष्टह्युम्न उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical dimension of public commitments in a kṣatriya context: alliances are declared openly, and responsibility for collective action is shared among named leaders, reinforcing accountability and the social order that frames warfare.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna continues enumerating notable warriors and regional figures who have assembled or are counted among the allied forces, signaling the scale of support and the mobilization preceding major conflict.
