Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Having duly satisfied Jvalana (Agni) and having the Brahmins pronounce auspicious benedictions, he then ordered that all the musical instruments sounding on every side be stopped. The moment underscores a shift from celebratory noise to ritual propriety and controlled conduct after a sacred act.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic discipline around sacred rites: after properly honoring Agni and receiving auspicious blessings from Brahmins, one restrains celebratory commotion. Ritual completion is marked not only by offerings but also by orderly conduct and reverence.

After the fire (Agni) has been ritually satisfied and Brahmins have recited svasti (auspicious benedictions), the person in charge commands that all instruments playing around be silenced, signaling a transition from public celebration to solemn closure of the rite.
