धृष्टद्युम्नेन समागतक्षत्रियगणगणना
Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s Enumeration of Assembled Kṣatriyas
संसिक्तमृष्टपन्थानं पताकाध्वजशोभितम् । मन: प्रह्लादयामास तस्य तत् पुरमुत्तमम्,नगरकी सड़कोंको झाड़-बुहारकर उनपर छिड़काव किया गया था। सब ओर लगी हुई ध्वजा-पताकाएँ उस पुरीकी शोभा बढ़ा रही थीं। इस प्रकार राजाकी वह उत्तम नगरी दर्शकोंके मनको उत्तम आह्वाद प्रदान कर रही थी
saṃsiktamṛṣṭapanthānaṃ patākādhvajaśobhitam | manaḥ prahlādayāmāsa tasya tat puram uttamam ||
“Its streets had been swept clean and sprinkled with water, and it was adorned with banners and standards. That excellent city of his delighted the minds of those who beheld it.” The verse highlights a king’s duty to maintain public order and auspiciousness: civic cleanliness and ceremonial decor are presented as signs of good governance and a harmonious social life.
