Vyāsa said: “Showing favor to their own circle of well-wishers through excellent enjoyments and the happiness of prosperity, these sons of yours will maintain and partake of the ancestral and paternal kingdom.”
व्यास उवाच
The verse frames kingship as stewardship of an inherited realm: prosperity and enjoyment are legitimate when coupled with responsibility—supporting one’s dependents and allies and preserving the ancestral order.
Vyāsa offers a forward-looking assurance/prophecy that the listener’s sons will rule and enjoy the inherited kingdom, while keeping their circle of well-wishers satisfied through prosperity and comforts.
