Post-slaying Stabilization after Baka’s Death

dṛṣṭvaiva bhīmasenaṃ sā śālapotam ivodgatam | rākṣasī kāmayāmāsa rūpeṇāpratimaṃ bhuvi ||

Vaiśampāyana said: The rākṣasī, the moment she saw Bhīmasena—handsome like a young śāla sapling newly sprung up—became enamoured of him. On this earth he was of incomparable beauty. The scene underscores how desire can arise suddenly from mere sight, setting the stage for a moral tension between impulsive passion and rightful conduct.
