जतुगृहदाहः — The Burning of the Lac House and the Pāṇḍavas’ Concealed Escape
वैशम्पायन उवाच ततो द्रोणाभ्यनुज्ञातः पार्थ: परपुरंजय: । भ्रातृभिस्त्वरया55श्लिपष्टो रणायोपजगाम तम्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--राजन्! तदनन्तर शत्रुओंके नगरको जीतनेवाले कुन्तीनन्दन अर्जुन आचार्य द्रोणकी आज्ञा ले तुरंत अपने भाइयोंसे गले मिलकर युद्धके लिये कर्णकी ओर बढ़े
vaiśampāyana uvāca | tato droṇābhyanujñātaḥ pārthaḥ parapuraṃjayaḥ | bhrātṛbhis tvarayāśliṣṭo raṇāyopajagāma tam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Then Pārtha (Arjuna), the conqueror of enemy strongholds, having received Droṇa’s permission, quickly embraced his brothers and advanced toward him (Karna) for battle. The passage underscores disciplined warfare: even in haste and hostility, action proceeds under the teacher’s sanction and with fraternal solidarity.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid imminent combat, rightful action is framed by discipline and legitimate authorization (the teacher’s consent) and strengthened by loyalty to one’s kin; haste is present, but it is not lawless.
After obtaining Droṇa’s permission, Arjuna quickly embraces his brothers and then advances toward Karṇa, preparing to engage him in battle.
