Vaiśampāyana said: Then Pārtha (Arjuna), the conqueror of enemy strongholds, having received Droṇa’s permission, quickly embraced his brothers and advanced toward him (Karna) for battle. The passage underscores disciplined warfare: even in haste and hostility, action proceeds under the teacher’s sanction and with fraternal solidarity.

Educational Q&A

Even amid imminent combat, rightful action is framed by discipline and legitimate authorization (the teacher’s consent) and strengthened by loyalty to one’s kin; haste is present, but it is not lawless.

After obtaining Droṇa’s permission, Arjuna quickly embraces his brothers and then advances toward Karṇa, preparing to engage him in battle.
