Vāraṇāvata-praveśa and Jatugṛha-saṃdeha
Entry into Vāraṇāvata and Suspicion of the Lac-House
viduro dhṛtarāṣṭrāya gāndhāryāḥ pāṇḍavāraṇiḥ | nyavedayetāṃ tat sarvaṃ kumārāṇāṃ viceṣṭitam |
Vidura kept informing Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Kuntī—the mother of the Pāṇḍavas—kept informing Gāndhārī, about all the conduct and doings of those princes. The verse underscores the elders’ responsibility to stay aware of the young heirs’ behavior, since such knowledge is essential for guiding them toward dharma and preventing harm born of unchecked impulses.
