Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)
तामन्यया समायोगे वीटाया ग्रहणं मम । इसी प्रकार दूसरीको तीसरीसे बींधते हुए अनेक सींकोंका संयोग होनेपर मुझे गुल्ली मिल जायगी
tām anyayā samāyoge vīṭāyā grahaṇaṃ mama |
Droṇa said: “By joining that one with another in proper combination, the pellet (vīṭā) will come into my grasp.” In context, he points to a method: through successive linking and correct arrangement, a desired object can be obtained—an ethical reminder that skill (yukti) and disciplined means, not mere force, lead to success.
द्रोण उवाच
Success comes through intelligent method and correct combination—careful arrangement of means—rather than impulsive effort. Droṇa highlights practical yukti (skillful strategy) as a disciplined path to an intended result.
Droṇa explains that by joining one element to another in sequence and proper alignment, he will be able to obtain the small pellet/ball (vīṭā). The line reflects an instructional moment emphasizing technique.
