The Birth of Kṛpa and Kṛpī; Kṛpa’s Attainment of Astras
शुश्रूषुरनहंवादी संयतात्मा जितेन्द्रिय: । स्वर्ग गन्तुं पराक्रान्तः स्वेन वीर्येण भारत,भारत! वे ऋषि-मुनियोंकी सेवा करते, अहंकारसे दूर रहते और मनको वशगमें रखते थे। उन्होंने सम्पूर्ण इन्द्रियोंको जीत लिया था। वे अपनी ही शक्तिसे स्वर्गलोकमें जानेके लिये सदा सचेष्ट रहने लगे
śuśrūṣur anahaṃvādī saṃyatātmā jitendriyaḥ | svargaṃ gantuṃ parākrāntaḥ svena vīryeṇa bhārata ||
Vaiśampāyana said: He was eager to serve, free from self-assertion, self-controlled, and master of his senses. O Bhārata, relying on his own strength and disciplined effort, he strove to attain the heavenly world—showing that humility, service, and restraint are the ethical means by which higher states are sought.
