दक्षस्य दुहिता या तु सुरभीत्यभिशब्दिता | गां प्रजाता तु सा देवी कश्यपाद्‌ भरतर्षभ,महाराज! दक्ष प्रजापतिकी पुत्रीने, जो देवी सुरभि नामसे विख्यात है, कश्यपजीके सहवाससे एक गौको जन्म दिया

dakṣasya duhitā yā tu surabhīty abhiśabditā | gāṁ prajātā tu sā devī kaśyapād bharatarṣabha ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Dakṣa’s daughter, renowned by the name Surabhī, bore a cow through her union with Kaśyapa, O bull among the Bharatas.
