Sukta 20

Mantra 1

अनुमतिः। अन्वद्य नोऽनुमतिर्यज्ञं देवेषु मन्यताम्। अग्निश्च हव्यवाहनो भवतां दाशुषे मम

In assent, to-day, may Anumati approve our sacrifice among the gods; and may Agni, the oblation-bearer, be present for my worshipper who bestoweth.

Mantra 2

अन्विदनुमते त्वं मंससे शं च नस्कृधि । जुषस्व हव्यमाहुतं प्रजां देवि ररास्व नः

Yea, in accord, O Anumati, thou art minded: work thou for us both welfare and good. Take thou delight in the oblation duly offered; and, O Goddess, bestow on us progeny.

Mantra 3

अनु मन्यतामनुमन्यमानः प्रजावन्तं रयिमक्षीयमाणम्। तस्य वयं हेडसि मापि भूम सुमृडीके अस्य सुमतौ स्याम

Let her, consenting, give assent—(granting) wealth undiminishing, and a man rich in offspring. In her displeasure may we not at all be found; in her kindly mercy, in her gracious thought, may we abide.

Mantra 4

यत् ते नाम सुहवं सुप्रणीतेऽनुमते अनुमतं सुदानु । तेना नो यज्ञं पिपृहि विश्ववारे रयिं नो धेहि सुभगे सुवीरम्

What name of thine is easy to invoke, O well-guiding Anumati—approved, bounteous—therewith make thou our sacrifice complete, O all-desirable one; and set thou for us wealth, O gracious Lady, rich in goodly sons.

Mantra 5

एमं यज्ञमनुमतिर्जगाम सुक्षेत्रतायै सुवीरतायै सुजातम्। भद्रा ह्यऽस्याः प्रमतिर्बभूव सेमं यज्ञमवतु देवगोपा

To this sacrifice hath Anumati come, for goodly fields, for goodly sons—well-generated. For auspicious is her providence become: let her, divinely guarded, protect this sacrifice.

Mantra 6

अनुमतिः सर्वमिदं बभूव यत् तिष्ठति चरति यदु च विश्वमेजति । तस्यास्ते देवि सुमतौ स्यामानुमते अनु हि मंससे नः

Anumati hath become all this—what standeth, what moveth, and whatsoever in the whole world stirreth. In her, O Goddess, in thy gracious thought may we abide; for, O Anumati, thou in accord art minded toward us.
