Sukta 3
आ रोहत दिवमुत्तमामृषयो मा बिभीतन । सोमपाः सोमपायिन इदं वः क्रियते हविरगन्म ज्वोतिरुत्तमम्
ā róhata dívaṁ uttamā́m ṛ́ṣayo mā́ bibhītana | sómapāḥ sómapāyina idáṁ vaḥ kriyate havír aganma jyótiḥ uttamáṁ
Ascend ye to heaven, the highest; O Seers, be not afraid. Ye Soma-drinkers, Soma-imbibing, for you is this oblation wrought: we have attained the Light supreme.
Rishi: Traditionally associated with Pitṛmedha corpus (AV 18); seer attribution often collective/ritual (Ātharvaṇa tradition).
Devata: Pitṛs (Soma-drinkers), and the salvific ‘Jyotis’ as goal-state.
Chandas: Predominantly Anuṣṭubh-like cadence (funerary AV often uses mixed/loose anuṣṭubh).
