He who, being born, overspread the Earth, who set the Ocean in the mid-air—of that God: this is the offence against the wrathful One, whoso, thus knowing, injureth a learned Brahman. Up—make him tremble, O Rohita; waste him away: in requital loose forth the nooses upon the Brahma-hurter.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (anukramaṇī attribution uncertain in this extract)
Devata: A cosmogonic ‘that god’ (tásya devásya), with Rohita as executing power
Chandas: Mixed/irregular; curse-refrain style
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_arc":"Cosmic wonder at creation → fierce juridical wrath → coercive binding.","listener_experience":"Awe turning to fear-driven deterrence; sense of an all-encompassing authority backing protection.","intensity":8}
