Sukta 4
तौदी नामासि कन्याऽघृताची नाम वा असि । अधस्पदेन ते पदमा ददे विषदूषणम्
taudī́ nā́māsi kanyā́’ghṛtācī́ nā́ma vā́ asi | adhaḥpadéna te padám ā́ dade viṣadū́ṣaṇam ||
Taudī by name thou art, a maiden; ‘Unghṛtācī’ by name, forsooth, thou art. With the lower step I set for thee a station—poison-spoiling, poison-destroying.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (as per Anukramaṇī lists for AV 10.4).
Devata: Taudī / Aghṛtācī as personified antidote; functionally the ‘viṣadūṣaṇa’ power.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (approximate; pāda-length suggests anuṣṭubh-style).
{"primary_rasa":"vira","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_arc":"From naming a mysterious remedy to decisive establishment of its poison-destroying station","listener_experience":"Urgent confidence; sense that the antidote has ‘arrived’ and taken command","intensity":7}
