भ्रष्टराज्यो यदा राजा नवम्यां नियतः शुचिः । अष्टम्यां च चतुर्दश्यामुपवासी नरोत्तमः । संवत्सरेण लभते राज्यं निष्कण्टकं नृपः ॥

bhraṣṭarājyo yadā rājā navamyāṃ niyataḥ śuciḥ | aṣṭamyāṃ ca caturdaśyām upavāsī narottamaḥ | saṃvatsareṇa labhate rājyaṃ niṣkaṇṭakaṃ nṛpaḥ ||

Bila seorang raja kehilangan kerajaannya, jika pada hari kesembilan (navamī) ia hidup berdisiplin dan suci, serta pada hari kedelapan (aṣṭamī) dan hari keempat belas (caturdaśī) ia berpuasa—maka dalam setahun sang raja memperoleh kembali kerajaan yang tanpa duri, yakni bebas dari musuh dan rintangan.
