अस्मिन्स्थाने सदा तिष्ठ मुनीनां हितकाम्यया । कंटकाः शोषिता दैत्यास्तेन कंटकशोषिणी । अद्यप्रभृति नामास्तु तेन देवि सदा त्विह
asminsthāne sadā tiṣṭha munīnāṃ hitakāmyayā | kaṃṭakāḥ śoṣitā daityāstena kaṃṭakaśoṣiṇī | adyaprabhṛti nāmāstu tena devi sadā tviha
“Wahai Devi, tinggallah senantiasa di tempat ini demi kesejahteraan para muni. Karena para daitya—bagai ‘duri’—telah Engkau keringkan dan binasakan, maka hendaklah nama-Mu di sini ‘Kaṇṭakaśoṣiṇī’, Sang Pengering Duri. Mulai hari ini, wahai Devi, itulah nama-Mu dan tetaplah Engkau di sini selalu.”
