तासु स्नात्वा महाभागा ब्रह्मपुत्रा यशस्विनः । नाम तस्य तदा चक्रुः पंचनद्यश्च तापसाः
tāsu snātvā mahābhāgā brahmaputrā yaśasvinaḥ | nāma tasya tadā cakruḥ paṃcanadyaśca tāpasāḥ
Setelah mandi suci di sungai-sungai itu, para putra Brahmā yang mulia dan termasyhur—para pertapa—lalu menamai tempat itu ‘Pañcanadī’.
