ययातिरुवाच । किमर्थं भगवन्वह्निः पुरा नष्टो द्विजोत्तम । कथं तत्रैव लब्धस्तु कौतुकं मे महामुने

yayātiruvāca | kimarthaṃ bhagavanvahniḥ purā naṣṭo dvijottama | kathaṃ tatraiva labdhastu kautukaṃ me mahāmune

Yayāti berkata: “Wahai Bhagavan, mengapa dahulu Vahni (Api) lenyap, wahai yang utama di antara para dvija? Dan bagaimana ia ditemukan kembali di tempat yang sama? Wahai Mahāmuni, rasa ingin tahu ini timbul dalam diriku.”
