ऋषय ऊचुः । ब्रह्महत्या कथं जाता देवेन्द्रस्य महात्मनः । कस्मिन्काले च सर्वं नो विस्तरात्सूत कीर्तय
ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | brahmahatyā kathaṃ jātā devendrasya mahātmanaḥ | kasminkāle ca sarvaṃ no vistarātsūta kīrtaya
Para ṛṣi berkata: “Bagaimana dosa brahmahatyā (membunuh brāhmaṇa) timbul pada Mahātman, Dewa-Indra? Dan pada waktu apakah itu terjadi? Wahai Sūta, kisahkanlah semuanya kepada kami dengan rinci.”
